Ye Old Yule — 12 Doors to the Long Night Ritual Advent

🌿 YE OLD YULE - 12 Doors to the Long Night 🌿

From Hedge to Heart to Altar

Yule does not begin on the Long Night.

It begins in the dark before it. In the sweeping, the gathering, the quiet making-ready.
Build from the 9th December to the 20th

Old folk knew this. You did not wake on Midwinter and throw a few sprigs on a table. You prepared the threshold. You swept out the old year, you marked your circle, you fed the hedge and the house spirits, you called your ancestors close, so that when Mother's Night came — Dec 20th — your hearth was alive and ready to welcome the light back.

This one brings you to Yule.

12 individual parcels, wrapped in brown paper, one to open each night, Dec 9th - 20th. Each night you will lay one more piece of the altar, until on Mother's Night your altar is lit and ready for the Long Night.

From my hedge, what may come to your hearth:

🖤 Black salt sweep — clear the old year
🔥 Hedge ash from my Yule fire — protection & ancestors
🌿 Holly & Ivy — balance of light & dark
🐦 Bird offering — feather & grain — feed the wild ones
💨 Hearth smoke incense — sweet home blessing
🍊 Orange & clove sachet — warmth & abundance
🪵 Ashen faggot & red thread — old magic promise
🥣 Offering bowl — your small daily gratitude
🪵 Mini Yule log charm — light in the darkness
🧹 Straw dolly guardian — watcher of your threshold
🕯️ Mother's Night beeswax light — welcome the returning sun
📖 Old folk ritual booklet — how to walk these 12 nights

✨On the 12th night, your altar will be complete. The light returns. Welcome home." ✨
