A rich gentlewoman who refused to beg.

In 1612 Pendle, Lancashire — Alice Nutter was different. Wealthy, educated, widowed. They accused her anyway. She walked to Lancaster Castle with her head high and never confessed to their lies. Hanged on 20th August 1612.
